Rooms at the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel and the Crowne Plaza Hamilton are sold out for the duration of CSC2009 although there may be some rooms available for a night or two in the middle of the conference.

Tourism Hamilton's web site provides links to all the hotels and motels in the area.  The information on the Tourism Hamilton web site indicates whether the hotels and motels are downtown or further out of town.  Some of the hotels do provide shuttle service to the downtown area.  When booking, please be sure to tell them that you will be coming for CSC2009.

In addition there are links to other types of accommodations in the area such as Bed and Breakfast establishments in the area as well as campgrounds.

Rooms are no longer available in Hedden Hall on the McMaster campus.

We have been able to secure a block of rooms at the Admiral Inn in Burlington.  The rates are very low so the $35-40 cab fare (about a ten-minute ride) between the Hamilton Convention Centre and the Burlington Admiral Inn is not too onerous, especially if several people share the cab.
Please be sure to mention the Canadian Chemistry Conference to get these rates.

The Hamilton Days Inn has made available a number of rooms available at a special rate for CSC2009 attendees.  You must indicate that you will be attending CSC2009 or the Canadian Chemistry Conference to get these rates.  There are very few rooms for May 30 but more for the rest of the time.

The official conference hotel is the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel.
The Sheraton Hamilton Hotel is connected to the Hamilton Convention Centre by an over-street walkway; technical sessions will take place in the Sheraton as well as in the Convention Centre.  SOLD OUT

If you plan to arrive very early or stay late and the search tells you there are no rooms, try tightening your times closer to the actual time of CSC2009; there are significantly fewer rooms available at our rates before May 29 or after June 4.  Rooms are only available at these rates until they are sold out.  There may be club rooms available at higher rates.

Student Accommodations

We have reserved a block of rooms with Basic Service in Hedden Hall on the McMaster campus, approximately 5 km from the Convention Centre and the Sheraton; room rates include a hot and cold buffet breakfast.  These rooms will be held until April 27, 2009.  SOLD OUT
Information about Hedden Hall may be found here.  High-speed Internet access in the rooms is hardwired so be sure to bring an RJ45 cable with you if you plan to connect.
Bus service is available between the University and downtown Hamilton; specific information may be found here.  The nearest bus stop[routes 1, 5A and 51(51 operates on weekdays only)] is at the corner of Forsyth and Sterling .

Single room $57.25/night plus 10% tax
Double room $48.60/person/night plus 10% tax

 

A discounted daily parking rate is being offered to those staying in Hedden Hall;
the rates are $5.00/day plus 5% GST for Saturday and Sunday and $10.00/day plus 5% GST for weekdays.
